Island Hopping on your Hawaii Vacation

This week’s podcast is about island hopping and multi-island Hawaiian vacations. Back in the day when flights were cheap, that could be done easily. Back then, you could even come to Oahu (The Gathering Place) and decide on a whim to go to another island. Those days are long gone, and interisland airfare is much higher. Now any trip to another island must be planned in advance. Of course, there’s only one to do it, and that’s by plane. Cheap interisland transportation sailed out of Hawaii with the Hawaii Superferry years ago, but there are still deals to be found on interisland flights. We’ll share our expertise and insight.

The most important thing when planning a Neighbor Island trip is to know what you want to do when you get there. Is it an ocean adventure you’re after? A food tour? Maybe it’s just a lazy stay at a fine resort. We’ll talk about the best way to make the most out of limited time on the Neighbor Islands, and how to get the best value for your vacation dollar.

Today Bruce and Lanai talk about island-hopping and multi island trips, and which ones to combine if you have limited time here. If you have a week, it may make sense to visit all that one island has to offer instead of trying to pack limited time on two or more islands in just a couple of days. Which islands should you choose? Today we talk about considering best ways to decide which Hawaii islands to visit, and about the best way to organize your Hawaii interisland vacation.
