"This is the only decent hotel in Hilo and the only one I recommend. This is more like a motel, perfect for a overnight stay to see the volcano area. Jr. Suites are quite nice and roomy for famiies and the restaurant in the hotel is excellent".

Located on picturesque Hilo Bay, the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is a peaceful retreat on the Big Island’s eastern shore. Complimentary parking is available for hotel guests, and in- room high-speed internet access is offered for a daily fee. Most accommodations are outfitted with private balconies, mini refrigerators, coffee makers, and air conditioning. Hotel amenities include a large freshwater swimming pool, sun deck, beauty salon, and vending machines. Tennis courts are located nearby, and avid golfers are sure to enjoy the 9-hole golf course located across the street. Liliuokalani Gardens, a tranquil Japanese garden, is adjacent to the hotel property. Swimmer-friendly Onekahakaha Beach Park is located just two miles away.

Hilo Hawaiian Hotel boasts two on-site restaurants. Queen’s Court offers a daily breakfast buffet, a la carte dinner during the week, and a flavorful Hawaiian buffet dinner on the weekends. Many additional dining options can be found in the town of Hilo including local cuisine at Hilo Bay Cafe, international fare at Cafe Pesto, and Italian favorites at Pescatore. Hilo is also home to many boutique shops and weekly farmers markets.
