One of Hawaii Aloha Travel’s favorite cruise ships, the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America, is planning to undergo renovations. NCL released on Wednesday that the cruise ship will receive $30 million for funding the modernization beginning March 2013 and with sales for sails beginning in September 2013. Pride of America carries 2,124 passengers and will be upgraded with 24 new suites, including 22 larger family suites with improvements to their square footage. Now ranging anywhere between 363 and 416-square footage of space, the cruise ship will also renovate the balconies of a number of staterooms, making them “exceptionally large” says NCL.
Two 565-square foot owner’s suites will also be available. The renovation aims to modernize the staterooms, with linear and square furniture styles, white, blue, and turquoise color themes, crown molding, and more. Other improvements include new carpeting throughout the carpeted ship areas, flat-screen TVs in all staterooms, modernized décor, fitness center upgrades, new directional signage around the ship, and renovations to the gift shop, art gallery, and photo gallery.
There are also four new studios being designed for solo travelers, and renovations made to several of the onboard restaurants. Pride of America offers the only 7-day round trip cruise around the Hawaiian Islands, with freestyle cruising options for their passengers. The first to coin a flexible cruising schedule, Pride of America offers its guests open dining times, no pre-arranged seating, and bookings from outside companies. You can even sleep in a hotel on island if you’d like to see more of Hawaii. It’s a great cruise option for those who want a larger experience of the islands, with departure and arrival right in Honolulu, Hawaii.
