"This property has completed renovations to two of the three towers. The final tower has not been started yet. The good news is that the ocean front views are amazing and worth the upgrade. The location is great for exploring Kona and hotel is an affordable price."

Located on 12 oceanfront acres in Kailua Kona, The Royal Kona Resort offers luxurious accommodations in a lively island setting. The elegantly-appointed guest rooms recently underwent extensive renovations and feature private lanais, mini-refrigerators, and air conditioning. Resort amenities include an oceanfront swimming pool, four lighted tennis courts, a private swimming lagoon, fitness center, hair salon, and massage and spa center. Self parking is available for a daily rate, and WiFi internet access is available for an additional fee.

Delicious meals and tropical libations are available at three on-site restaurants. Don the Beachcomber Restaurant offers award-winning European-Asian fusion cuisine in a picturesque oceanfront setting. Don’s Mai-Tai Bar is the largest oceanfront open-air bar in Kailua Kona and offers lunch, appetizers, and a variety of specialty cocktails including 10 variations of the Mai- Tai. The bar also features live entertainment and large televisions for broadcasting sporting events. Don’s Breezeway Lounge provides specialty cocktails and spectacular views of the ocean in an elegant and comfortable lounge setting. Additional restaurants and bars can be found nearby in the town of Kailua Kona. The Royal Kona Resort’s Lava Legends & Legacies – Journeys of the South Pacific Luau takes place four nights a week and offers a spectacular Polynesian feast as well as a variety of ancient and modern entertainment.

Nearby activities include tennis, whale-watching, kayaking, hiking, surfing, and catamaran cruises. Additional island attractions located within one to two hours of the resort include Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Mauna Kea Summit Observatory, Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii, and Parker Ranch.
