The re-imagined Alohilani is one of my favorite properties in Waikiki. Centrally located overlooking Waikiki beach it’s perfect for couples and families alike.

The opening of the Alohilani Resort on the shores of Waikiki Beach caused quite a media stir in February 2017. Formerly the Pacific Beach Hotel, the property has been an iconic Hawaii destination for decades.

The 2017 rebranding of the Alohilani Resort brought many modern improvements to the property, but what garnered the most attention was the addition of three new restaurants and an innovative approach to dining and social programming. In fact, the Alohilani even has a Director of Vibe.

Morimoto Asia is the brainchild of Masahiro Morimoto, who is world famous for his role on the Iron Chef and for his artistic approach to Asian and international cuisine. Waikiki is famous for its large number of dining options. Morimoto Asia stands out with a mix of Asian and Western ingredients to create “Pan-Asian” dishes like Peking duck and Korean Kalbi.

Momosan Waikiki is another Chef Morimoto creation. It’s an upscale but casual take on a ramen restaurant. It features Chef Morimoto’s unique take on traditional noodle dishes, gyoza and yakitori. Momosan also has a lush outdoor beer garden featuring local craft brews and fine sake selections.

Swell Pool & Bar is located on the 5th floor and was named by In Style as one of the “10 Most Instagram-Worthy Pools in America”. Popular with visitors and resident, Swell features live local music and entertainment nightly. Its saltwater infinity pool offers unparalleled views of the Waikiki Beach sunset.

The Alohilani Resort is also kid-friendly. There is a separate kids’ pool and the Monkeypod Kids’ Club for ages 5-12 years. Full and half-day cabana rentals are also on offer. The Alohilani’s Oceanarium is a two-story aquarium has become one of Waikiki’s most popular attractions. It is a great place to experience Hawaii’s underwater world with a bite to eat or a drink.

As the Alohilani is popular with a younger, tech-savvy clientele rooms and suites feature Wi-Fi and large-screen HD televisions. Most rooms have private balconies. Maile Organics Kokee Collection bath amenities are complimentary with every room and suite. From standard and ADA compliant rooms to select Premiere Ocean Front Suites, the Alohilani provides everything modern vacationers have come to expect.

The overall ambiance, dining and entertainment, and service and hospitality programming have been carefully curated at the Alohilani Resort. New hires in management have brought a fresh, modern take to Waikiki’s booming hotel industry.
