Each year, glistening vessels make their way through the Hawaii Kai Marina for the Festival of Lights Christmas Boat Parade. These boats compete for prizes awarded by a panel of judges.
There is also a master of ceremonies to announce the boats, along with music and entertainment.

When Is The Festival of Lights Christmas Boat Parade
The exact date of the Festival of Lights Boat Parade vary each year. It’s often on the second Saturday of December, but that can change due to scheduling. In the past, it’s been sometime between December 6 and 16.
The parade begins at sunset (about 5:30 PM), but you’ll want to arrive early to find a good spot to watch.
Where to Watch the Hawaii Kai Festival of Lights Christmas Boat Parade
The lighted boats make their way throughout the marina, so you can watch from a number of locations in Hawaii Kai Towne Center, Koko Marina Center, or Hawaii Kai Shopping Center. You can watch from certain restaurants by the water, like Kona Brewing Company, but most families simply arrive early, grab a parking spot, and head toward the water.
