The Impact of the Aloha Airlines Shutdown
While it will probably be for quite some time before we truly understand the impact of the recent aloha airlines shutdown, the last few days have proven to be quite challenging for all who are involved. As travel agents, we’re really right in the middle of all of this. We have to protect our customers first but at the same time deal with the realities that are given to us from the airlines, wholesalers, the newspapers, the credit card companies and just about every single layer that’s involved with a reservation. Today we talk about our experiences as travel agents and more importantly analyze the last few days and put it in perspective so that we understand where we go from here. We discuss some of the tough cases that we’ve had to take on; from passengers being stuck in airports to rescheduling of airline tickets for months out in advance. We also give some advice to those of you who are carrying Aloha Airline tickets and don’t have a travel agent and at the same time remind folks how important it is to have somebody on your side when an emergency like this comes up unexpectedly.
We also take the time to answer what a podcast listener question, Willie writes in from California and want some advice on where to stay on Kauai if he really wants to get away from it all and doesn’t have the big bucks for an expensive resort. We also go over packages that have been booked in the last 24 hours and welcome new customers to our Ohana.
