The Holiday Inn Express Waikiki Hotel offers all the convenience and quality of the iconic brand right in the heart of Waikiki. The accommodations are resort quality with affordable value. With 596 rooms, the Holiday Inn Express Waikiki is the largest of the brand’s United States properties. It’s also the brand’s first Hawaii property. Constructed in 1984 as the Maile Sky Court Hotel, the property was formerly part of the Aqua Hotels & Resorts brand.
Kid Friendly Amenities
The 44-story hotel features a sky deck on the 5th floor with various activities, including a 9-hole miniature golf course, ping pong tables, shuffleboard and a video game room. A full breakfast, buffet breakfast, and continental breakfast are available, as well as a free kids’ breakfast.
There’s also a pool deck and jacuzzi at the hotel and a complimentary 24-hour fitness center that underwent a renovation in 2017. It has a rowing machine, treadmill, free weights and stationary bicycle.
Perfect for Goups and Business Travelers
The Holiday Inn Express’s rebranding included a focus on business services. This means that free high-speed internet access is available in all of the hotel’s rooms, with free high-speed Wi-Fi access for IHG Rewards members also available. There is also a business center and a printing service.
The Holiday Inn Express Waikiki is one of three hotels along a three-block stretch of Kuhio Avenue that have undergone major, multi-million-dollar renovations in the past couple of years. Hyatt Centric Waikiki and The Laylow are branded as boutique hotels.
The Holiday Express Waikiki is a far cry from the airport-adjacent hotels most commonly associated with the Holiday Inn Express brand. The ideal location is just a short walk from all of Waikiki’s major attractions. This includes nearby Waikiki Beach, the Honolulu Zoo, Kapiolani Park, and the Hawaii Convention Center. The retail mecca International Marketplace is across the street, and it features a host of luxury brands and fine and casual dining establishments.
