quote
“This is a great resort for families. The kids will love the water features, gondola boat rides around the property and the pool. With the kids, it can be noisy, so perhaps not the most romantic option. This is a large property, so lots of walking. The rooms could use a soft renovation but they are clean and nice.”

Situated on 62 oceanfront acres on the Big Island’s beautiful Kohala Coast, the Hilton Waikoloa Village is a resort unlike any other. Flagstone walkways, air-conditioned trams, and mahogany boats transport guests through the extensive gardens and winding canals that comprise the 1,240-room resort. Guests may choose between the oceanfront Lagoon Tower, the exotic Ocean Tower, the luxurious Palace Tower, and 57 magnificent and spacious suites.

The resort features three spectacular pool areas: a large freshwater pool with a rock waterfall and adjacent pool bar, a river-like system of four pools connected by waterslides and winding waterways, and a tranquil adult-only pool surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The resort also features a four-acre saltwater lagoon perfect for snorkeling, swimming, and a variety of water sports. After a long day at the pool or a lazy day in the sun, the Kohala Spa offers guests the opportunity to revive the mind, body, and soul with various luxurious spa treatments, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an assortment of group exercise and wellness classes.

Guests staying at the Hilton Waikoloa may choose from various on-site dining options, including a steak and seafood restaurant, gourmet Chinese cuisine, an authentic Japanese restaurant, and a Mexican cantina with a hint of island flare. Mahalo Lounge, a sophisticated cocktail lounge near the hotel lobby, offers various late-night libations, an assortment of signature island drinks, and live entertainment.

The resort offers a wide variety of on-site activities, including the Legends of the Pacific Luau, the Museum Walkway with its impressive 1800-piece collection, Hawaiian arts and crafts classes, and informational tours of the resort property. Additional resort activities include golf, tennis, and Dolphin Quest, the only interactive dolphin program on the island. Popular island activities that require leaving the resort property include Mauna Kea summit tours, stargazing activities, helicopter tours, and excursions to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
