A romantic resort artfully hidden among 27 acres of coconut groves, the Waimea Plantation Cottages offer guests a glimpse of life in the sugar plantation era. Accommodations included a cluster of 43 authentic cottages restored to reflect their condition during the sugar plantation era. All cottages feature period-style furniture and modern appliances. In-room amenities include fully equipped kitchens, high-speed internet access, spacious front porches, and picturesque island views. Coffee service is offered daily in the resort lobby.

Private Secluded Cottages

While the cottages retain their original architecture, they have been thoughtfully updated with all the amenities expected of a contemporary resort, ensuring a nostalgic and comfortable stay. Every cottage boasts a distinct design and layout, but each has a fully stocked kitchen, cozy living spaces, and personal lanais. While some grant captivating full or partial ocean vistas, others provide serene views of the resort’s verdant gardens. Stay connected with Wi-Fi throughout your cottage and the entire property. The triple-layered bedding ensures a peaceful slumber after an eventful (or leisurely) day. Unwind with a movie on your flat-screen TV; each accommodation has a DVD player, and a selection of films is available at no cost in the lobby.

Resort Amenities

Visitors can spend their days strolling through lush tropical gardens, swimming in the oceanfront pool, or basking on the adjacent black sand beach. Additional resort amenities include volleyball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, yoga, and croquet. Guests may also visit the nearby golf course or check out the underwater terrain with a snorkeling session. Indulge your taste buds at Chicken in a Barrel, the laid-back eatery nestled within Waimea Plantation Cottages. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Chicken in a Barrel delivers a burst of local flavors, offering the island’s finest BBQ delicacies.

What truly sets Waimea Plantation Cottages apart, however, is its dedication to preserving the spirit of aloha. The warm and hospitable staff are ever eager to share their knowledge of the island, ensuring that guests not only enjoy their stay but also forge a deep connection with Kauai’s culture and traditions.

Only stay here if you want a rustic, real Hawaiian experience. The units are old and that's part of the charm. A/C in most of the bedrooms only. The property is amazing, with beautiful landscaping. Nice beach but not swimming beach. A lot of local flavor.
