You probably want to plan something special for mom if you’re celebrating Mother’s Day in Hawaii. We’ve got a roundup of our favorite ideas. Luckily, all of these are kid-friendly too, so the whole family can celebrate while on vacation.

  1. Get outside!

You’re in Hawaii, so get outside and enjoy it! Drive around the island, walk around the shops on the North Shore, or go for a walk through the botanical garden in Waimea Valley.

  2. Sea Life Park

In honor of Mother’s Day in Hawaii, Sea Life Park offers mothers free park admission with the purchase of a ticket from May 8 – May 14. Click here for more information about this and other discounts.

  3. Visit a museum

The Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Pacific Aviation Museum, and Bishop Museum are all open on Sundays and are sure to entertain the entire family.

  4. 20th Annual Craft Fair for Mother’s Day

If you love to shop, you will love this craft fair. It is geared towards families and will take place from May 5-7 at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Bring the kids to buy gifts for mom, or bring her along so she can pick out what she wants. Click here for more information.

  5. A picnic on the beach

Pamper mom by grabbing some food and taking her to the beach. Let the kids run around in the sand and let mom soak in the sun while enjoying some Hawaiian food. If you drive along the North Shore, you can grab a picnic lunch from one of the food trucks scattered along Kamehameha Highway.

  6. Cruise around on the Star of Honolulu

The popular cruising company will host a Mother’s Day Brunch Cruise. There will be Hawaiian cultural activities that the entire family can enjoy, including lei making and ukulele and hula lessons. Moms have the chance to enjoy door prizes, Mother’s Day cake, and more.

The cruise will take place on May 14, 2017, from 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM. Leaving from the Aloha Tower in Honolulu, the cost is $69.00 per adult and $42.00 per child.
