Embracing Aloha: Essence of Hawaiʻi in Every Detail!

When passengers step onto Hawaiian’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, they’ll find themselves enveloped in an interior that captures the essence of Hawaiʻi — from vibrant textures and serene sunrise-sunset lighting to designs echoing the ebb and flow of the ocean and the dance of the wind. This 300-seater plane boasts the latest in Hawaiian’s luxury offerings: the Leihōkū Suites (meaning ‘garland of stars’). These 34 suites transport passengers into a peaceful realm, with lie-flat seats, an 18-inch entertainment display, individual power ports, wireless phone charging, and uninterrupted aisle access. Laid out in a 1-2-1 formation with individual doors, the suites can be private sanctuaries or connected to form double suites. This allows partners to drift off under a star ceiling, reminiscent of the constellations that steered ancient Polynesian navigators.

The distinct Hawaiian essence and comfort of our 787, combined with the top-tier hospitality delivered by our crew, ensures an unmatched journey for our guests en route to the islands,” stated Avi Mannis, Hawaiian Airlines’ Chief Marketing Officer.

State of the art Comfort

In pioneering the Leihōkū Suites, Hawaiian Airlines broke new ground by collaborating with Adient Aerospace, a synergistic partnership between Boeing Company and Adient, renowned for their automotive seating expertise. The main cabin of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is furnished with 266 lightweight Aspire seats from Collins Aerospace. These seats, designed for optimum comfort, sport an ergonomic contour, expanded shoulder and hip space, and are equipped with a 12-inch seatback monitor along with USB-A and USB-C charging ports.

Hawaiian’s 787 design is a tribute to Pacific navigators who journeyed across the ocean, guided by the stars, sun, winds, and nature. In bringing this vision to life, the airline joined forces with design consultants from Teague to craft an aircraft that encapsulates the spirit of Pacific exploration.

Luxurious Modern Design

Each intricate detail of the interior exudes Hawaiʻi’s untouched beauty: from wall panels mimicking indigenous wood grains to a lavatory floor evoking the glint of volcanic black sand. The ‘Ōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language) gracefully blends into seat row markings and other signs. The patterns and textures are reminiscent of native Hawaiian flora.

Breathe Easy: The Gold Standard of Cabin Air Filtration!

The 787 also prioritizes passenger well-being with superior cabin air filtration. Its carbon-fiber composite structure allows for travel at reduced cabin altitudes, ensuring a more relaxed flight experience. The noise-reducing engine inlets further enhance the tranquil ambiance of the cabin. Added perks include expansive dimmable windows, ample overhead storage, and touch-free lavatory amenities.

Anticipation is building as Hawaiian gears up to welcome the first of their 12 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners this January, with a rollout of additional aircraft expected to span until 2027.
