Visiting Kauai during Covid-19

Hawaii Aloha Travel > Podcast > Visiting Kauai during Covid-19

Our latest Hawaii Vacation Connection Podcast features Aloha Bruce and Yaling Fisher talking about his recent trip to Kauai, the Garden Isle, to see for himself (and for listeners) what it is like there on the ground right now. Bruce and Yaling offer insights on what it is like in one of the most beautiful vacation destinations in the world. Bruce reminds listeners that the first visitors to return when the travel ban is lifted will have the best vacation of their lives.

He was reminded of the aftermath of Hurricane Iniki decades ago when the island was quiet and empty. He also talks about ways that interisland travel is being made easier and gives important details about how to follow new protocols for relatively hassle-free travel. He also notes that his flight from Honolulu to Lihue was full. He and Yaling worry that too many people aren’t taking safety precautions seriously enough. He also talks about his regular, diligent mask use and other safety practices.

Bruce says he stayed at the Koloa Landing Resort and offers details about the amazing amenities and water features on offer at the property. He says safety practices are fully in place there and describes new touchless technologies now in use with barcodes and the like.

Our hosts talk about a recent spike in cases in Hawaii, and Bruce is doubtful that Governor Ige will extend the mandatory requirement. Bruce mentions various activities that are now open for business and notes that people on Kauai seem less stressed out over COVID-19 because of the low case count there.

Bruce says he took a long horseback ride near the property of Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg, and offers details about the ride. On his final day on Kauai he went to a number of destinations that are often crowded with visitors and says that they were beautiful and silent.

He also stopped at the Kauai Coffee Farm, where he says the hosts and staff were incredibly warm and full of aloha. Bruce says that visitors should make Kauai their first choice for a Hawaii vacation for a variety of reasons, including incredible deals currently available.

Bruce says he remains determined to continue doing what Hawaii Aloha Travel does, because he is open to the changes to come and remains committed to helping Hawaii visitors plan the Hawaii vacation of a lifetime. He reminds listeners and blog readers to offer their feedback and join the conversation.
