April 2012 marked the beginning of the Hilton Hawaiian Village refurbishment, and now, the $45 million renovation has been unveiled. The Rainbow Tower, one of the most popular among guests, is favored for its close proximity to Waikiki Beach and Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon, not to mention the view is quite spectacular as well. 800 rooms have been transformed and state-of-the-art elevators have been added for better efficiency and corridor appearance. The two suites on the 30th and 31st floors have also undergone major renovation, with a total price of $1 million going into their new designs.
The rooms in the Rainbow Tower have been altered to reflect the colors of Hawaii; warm oranges and golden yellows, made to take on “sun” colors and the hues that evoke warmth, comfort, and beauty. New carpet, furniture, wall décor, bathrooms, bathtubs, window drapery, and artwork adorn each room along with adjoining room options for families and parents. Guests will also be pleased to hear that new hotel amenities have been included along with the aesthetic renovations as well. Club Penguin (the property’s existing kid program) has been enhanced, offering a 1,200-square foot facility in the Diamond Tower equipped with computer stations, kid-sized tables, camp counselors, and a variety of daily activities.
The Hilton Hawaii Village also redid their pool area, expanding it into what is now known as “Paradise Pool,” complete with waterfalls and slides. The Hilton’s Tropical Bar & Grill now offers a kid-friendly menu plus activities and gifts to keep them occupied during mealtime. If you’re looking into a family vacation in Waikiki, the Hilton Hawaii Village definitely deserves your attention!
