It wasn’t easy but we did it! we managed to climb over 1000 stairs to the top of Koko Head. The tail is located on the east side of the island in Hawaii Kai and is one of the challenging hikes in the area. While it’s a little tricky to find it’s well worth it i and if you’re in pretty good shape you can definitely make it up here. You’re actually climbing on old railroad tracks that were used many years ago transport supplies. Once you get to the top you have a panoramic view of the east of the island including Diamondhead. From this vantage point you’re actually higher in elevation than Diamondhead. It’s best to come here when it’s overcast because it’s not as hot however if you get here early enough in the morning it won’t be an issue. Remember to bring sunscreen hydrate a lot before you embark on this adventure.
