Aloha Plate Food Tour
Let your taste buds experience the culture of Hawaii and join us on an exclusive food tour to some of the best local spots on the island. Curated and hosted by Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race” winners Lanai Tabura, Adam Tabura and Shawn Felipe, this tour begins at the unique Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area. Learn the history of ancient Hawaiian herbs, plants and healing practices and explore the beautiful land of this cultural landmark.
The Aloha Plate Food Tour also takes you to Hawaii’s Plantation Village, but first you’ll enjoy some of the finest local food in the island, served up fresh by Elena’s. The oldest food truck in Hawaii, this family run restaurant began in 1974 and is a local favorite. Sample one of Elena’s family recipe dishes and enjoy a truly traditional Hawaii experience. After lunch, you’ll wander the Plantation Village property and learn about the history of the plantation workers. A wonderful way to step back in time, this tour is also accompanied by fresh fruit samples brought over long ago from immigrants.
Next we’ll take you to Highway Inn, a flavorful spot that is known for their fresh ingredients from time-honored recipes. Sample true Hawaiian flavors at this restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere of local Hawaii. And last but not least your taste buds will simmer in the sweet, warm flavors of Leonard’s malasadas. Famous for their delicious dough balls, Leonard’s is the ideal way to end an exciting day enjoying Hawaii flavors.
