Guys, I have great news! I think I may have found the BEST pineapple fried rice in Hawaii.

For about a year now, I have been on a personal quest to find the best after our favorite Thai restaurant in Manoa shut down. Every week, I would get my pineapple fried rice fix from Thai Sweet Basil, and when they closed, nothing seemed to compare…until I ordered from To Thai For!

The restaurant in Kaimuki not only has a catchy name but also some tasty food. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with no expectations, and when it came out, I already knew it would be good. A colorful array of fresh veggies brightened up the dish, and when I took that first bite, my mouth rejoiced! It was almost an exact replica of Thai Sweet Basil’s.

If I had to describe the taste of the pineapple fried rice, I would say: fresh but with a subtle hint of grilled goodness to balance it all out. Unlike some places, the pineapple did not taste like it came out of a can nor did the rest of the ingredients. Everything looked and tasted superb.

Another gem I discovered at To Thai For? Tapioca topped with haupia ice cream. Sounds kind of weird but definitely worth a try. They serve it warm, so you have to eat it quickly or the ice cream melts fast. Our friends had the sticky rice topped with chocolate ice cream, which also looked delicious!
