Everyone raves about the pizza at J.J. Dolan’s, and for good reason. The Downtown Honolulu pub/pizzeria ranked as one of the best in the nation.
”Pizza Total” magazine listed J.J.’s as number 85 on its annual Hot 100 list. For any eatery that serves pizza, this is a HUGE deal. But this is an even bigger deal for those independent ones that must constantly compete against large pizza chains, like Pizza Hut and Domino’s.
Hands down, I would pick J.J. Dolan’s pizza over any of the big whips. I love their Giacomo, topped with sausages, pepperoni, salami and olives. A waitress once told me this is their most popular pick by customers. J.J.’s serves a variety of other foods, but pizza has always been what they are most known for.
Customers also know J.J.’s for their bar. Whether it is for pau hana cocktails or business lunches, the bar is always packed with thirsty customers. You should see this place during St. Patrick’s Day. Actually, you should see ALL of Downtown Chinatown during this holiday! The streets are packed with people for the two-three-block festival.
