Pho Tri is perfect for those rainy days in Hawaii. This Vietnamese restaurant has easily become one of our favorite spots for a steaming bowl of pho. Mostly because they’ve managed to always remain consistent in their friendly service and above-average food quality.

That’s a hard trait to come by nowadays, which is why I highly recommend this place to visitors looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Their broth is always just as savory as the last and the vegetables always fresh and crisp. Plus, there are tons of items to choose from. If I’m not in the mood for pho, I get the spring roll vermicelli – which is basically a bowl of cold noodles with chopped-up spring rolls and pickled veggies.

But in all honesty, the pho is really why I go here. I usually get a small bowl of tofu pho, which is plenty for me. The portions are very generous. My boyfriend likes the beef pho. The raw meat quickly cooks in the piping broth. If you’re going with a friend, come here on a Saturday because it’s buy one, get the second bowl half off (BOGO!).

Located about five-minutes from Waikiki, Pho Tri doesn’t look like much from the outside. It’s just steps from the main road and next to a hair salon. But give it a chance. Once you’re inside, you’ll see that it’s not bad at all. In fact, customers are welcomed by a peacefully flowing waterfall and Vietnamese decor. Best of all, the staff is always pleasant – smiling as they welcome you through their doors.
