You can find locally-grown produce almost anywhere on Kauai, but for the really fresh stuff, check out a farmers market. In fact, Kauai loves its fruit and veggies so much, the community has at least one market a day. That’s almost unheard of in some places…but not in Hawaii. No matter which side of the island you’re venturing, there’s sure to be a market nearest you.

My personal favorite is the newer one at Kukuiula Shopping Village. I was able to grab some local jams and homemade breads during a recent trip to the island, which my family back home loved! Here’s where you, too, can try some Kauai-grown goods:

MONDAY

Koloa (noon): Knudsen Ball Park side parking lot off Maluhia Rd.

Lihue (3pm): Parking lot behind Kukui Grove Center’s Kmart

TUESDAY

Kapaa (9am): Coconut Marketplace

Kalaheo (3pm): Kalaheo Neighborhood Center on Papalina Rd. off Kaumuali’i Hwy.

WEDNESDAY

Kapaa (3pm): Kapaa New Town Ball Park parking lot

Poipu (4pm): Kukuiula Shopping Village

THURSDAY

Kapaa (9am): Coconut Marketplace

Kilauea (430pm): Kilauea Neighborhood Center parking lot

FRIDAY

Lihue (3pm): Vidinha Stadium parking lot off Hoolako Rd.

Koloa (1pm): Historic Courtyard in Old Koloa Town

SATURDAY

Hanalei (930am): Hanalei Neighborhood Center off Kuhio Hwy.
