With Hawaii’s children under stay-at-home orders just like the rest of Hawaii’s population of 1.4 million. It’s easy for keiki to feel left behind as parents around the Aloha State struggle to work from home or navigate unemployment, pay rent or mortgages, and simply keep their families safe. Parents may be receiving a federal stimulus check during this difficult time and Show Aloha Challenge hopes to provide Oahu keiki their own stimulus package.
And what better way to let Hawaii’s kids know they are important and cared for than by providing them with a generous package of delicious, locally made snack treats? That’s like a treasure for youngsters!
Several local restaurants, bakeries, and food suppliers are pitching in on the effort. In addition to La Tour Bakehouse, Y Hata, Meadow Gold, Love’s Bakery, Waiola Life, and K&K Distributors have all contributed food, drinks, and volunteers for Sunday’s event.
The Keiki Stimulus Packs will be available for the first 1,000 drive through vehicles or until supplies run out. Families with three or more children will receive two packs. The packs include a tasty Japanese Shokupan loaf, a cinnamon loaf, and frozen chicken pesto bakes from La Tour Bakehouse, as well as taro chips, a cinnamon Danish 8-pack, brownie bites, and other sweet and savory treats from participating businesses.
Families do not need to exit their vehicles, as trained volunteers will happily load each vehicle carefully to prevent the spread of germs.

The Show Aloha Challenge has already made a significant impact in addressing the needs of Hawaii’s kupuna population and continues to help local restaurants and vendors survive during the current coronavirus shutdown that has shuttered businesses across the Aloha State. Reaching out to Hawaii’s keiki is simply the logical expansion of efforts now underway to help Hawaii’s residents in a time of great need and greater uncertainty.

About the Show Aloha Challenge
Established on March 22nd of this year, The Show Aloha Challenge sets to focus on serving Hawaii’s vulnerable, homebound seniors nutritious meals prepared by restaurants. The Show Aloha Challenge has a three-fold purpose: (1) Fill a vital gap in the community by providing nutritional meals to seniors who do not qualify for government-subsidized home meal delivery programs; (2) Support local restaurants that are impacted by shutdowns; and (3) Continue to challenge other organizations to join this important effort. To date, The Show Aloha Challenge has raised just over $600,000 to feed Hawaii’s Kupuna and provide much-needed assistance to Hawaii’s small business community.
