As Kakaako continues to climb skyward and new businesses, restaurants, and development plans take shape, there are ever more reasons to visit the area. One of the newest regular events to go down in Kakaako is the Ward Village Courtyard Brunch.
The Courtyard Brunch will be a monthly event, featuring farm-to-table ingredients, top local chefs, and live entertainment. The first Courtyard Brunch takes place on Sunday, April 12 from 10am to 1pm. The featured chefs at the inaugural event will feature MW Restaurant’s Chef Michelle Karr-Ueoka, Pastry Chef Jayme Vaniew of Morimoto Waikiki, the owners of the Holoholo General Store, and Naked Cow Dairy’s Chef Gida Snyder. DJ Anit will provide the live entertainment for the first go-round of Ward Village Courtyard Brunch.
Whole Foods, which plans a 50,000 square foot retail space in the area, will be on hand to kick off the event and to introduce itself to the neighborhood. The store will be Whole Foods’ largest store in Hawaii.
Tickets to the event are $20, and include access to a variety of eateries, themed dishes, and contemporary breakfast cocktails. Proceeds from the event will benefit nonprofit organizations through the Ward Villages Foundation.
As development in Kakaako continues to steam ahead, an ever-increasing number of monthly events have taken shape to attract visitors, diners, and shoppers to the area. The Ward Villages Courtyard Brunch is sure to be one of the regular attractions in the area for residents and visitors alike.
