My friend and I were hanging out at a beach near Diamond Head when we noticed a dark stream of billowing smoke, coming from one of the nearby neighborhoods. Soon, everyone else at the beach around us started to notice the dark cloud of smoke in the distance; it stretched across the blue sky.
Turns out, it was “Hawaii Five-0” actor Alex O’Loughlin’s home that caught fire.
According to witnesses, it was like a scene out of the popular crime-fighting episode. An explosion shook the actor’s million-dollar mansion near Diamond Head before smoke and flames began to burst from the garage door. Luckily, Alex and his girlfriend were not home.
Alex showed up about 20 minutes after firefighters came, according to reports. The 39-year-old Australian actor told local reporters that he lost property in that fire, including his tools, motorcycles and surfboards. Overall, there was about $110,000 in damage. A cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Thankfully, no one was hurt! Alex lives with his model girlfriend Malia Jones and their son, Lion; two of Malia’s other children also live in that home. We’ll keep you posted on what caused this sudden fire.
