Maui has a plethora of wonderful, wonderful waterfalls. They span across the island, hidden deep within lush forest valleys. The steady rhythm of their flow sends a wave of serenity throughout.
If you’re looking for waterfalls on Maui, then you’ve come to the right place! Here’s a list of some of my favorite falls on the Valley Isle (in no particular order):
Lower Puahokamoa Falls
Hana Highway – Mile Marker #10.8
This tall, cascading waterfall is best viewed from afar. A mini trail leads hikers to a slightly closer view; however, accessing the falls and deep-water pool below is not recommended. The trail down is very steep.
Hana Highway – Mile Marker #2.1
Twin Falls is the first easily accessible waterfall from a string of falls and pools on the Road to Hana. Because of this, the falls can be pretty crowded with locals and visitors. Plan to spend at least two to three hours here.
Hana Highway – Kipahulu trailhead – Mile Marker #42
As a National Park treasure, Waimoku Falls is definitely worth your $10. You must take a 1.8-mile trial through a lush tropical rainforest before reaching the falls. $10 entry fee.
Hana Highway – Mile Marker #&9.9
Those who visit this waterfall are in for a treat because there is not one but two to enjoy. The first waterfall is right next to the road, then if you go farther upstream, you will find the second larger one.
Hana Highway – Mile Marker #44.8
Another roadside gem, except this waterfall is 80-feet tall! It is probably the most photographed waterfall on Maui! With that said, prepare for crowds because it is en route to another set of famous falls on Honolewa Stream.
