Walkabout Wednesdays in Honolulu’s Chinatown

Here’s something to do on a weekday night in Honolulu: Walkabout Wednesdays invites people to Chinatown for a night of food, drinks and live music.

Organizers say that it will be the happening spot on a Wednesday eve, with the first Walkabout launching on Jan. 8, 2014. Five bars and restaurants in Chinatown joined in on the Walkabout fun by extending their happy hours and offering live music and dancing to customers. The list of participating businesses is expected to grow.

Surprisingly, live music can be hard to come by in Hawaii – especially on a week night. So having a designated time and place for this is like music to my ears! We usually plan our nights out around entertainment line-ups at restaurants around town. It would be nice to have a place to go and unwind mid-way through the week. Walkabout Wednesdays, it is!

In addition to this wonderful Wednesday happening, Chinatown hosts First Fridays every month. The event has exploded in popularity over the years, as revelers of all ages celebrate the start to their weekend. These designated events are a great way to not only have fun in Hawaii but to support local businesses as well.
