When Halloween lands on a weekday, festivities on the night of may be pretty scarce. Hawaii usually celebrates Halloween the weekend before in Chinatown for the annual Hallowbaloo or at Windward Mall for the big Pumpkin Carving Fest.
I did some digging and found a few happenings on the night of Halloween (all on Oahu). There is actually a good mix of things to do for both children and adults that involve everything from candy to cocktails.
Here’s the Oct. 31 line-up:
• Oct. 31, 930pm-1230am • Mai Tai Bar, Ala Moana Center • Live DJ for those 21 and older
• Oct. 31, 5-8pm • Pearlridge Center, Uptown Center Court • Free Halloween photos flipbooks and trick-or-treating for the keiki
• Oct. 31, 5-9pm • Honolulu Zoo, enter through the gate on Monsarrat Avenue • Kids and adults dress up for free activities, including a Haunted Zone, Fun Zone, trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving. There will also be costume contest
• Oct. 31, 9pm-2am • Fleet Reserve Association, 891 Valkenburgh St. • Costume contests and prizes for 21 and older
