Like a fine wine that gets better with age, technology also gets better over time. Halekulani has turned to technology when pouring glasses of wine at both of its restaurants – an alternative for those who’d rather not drop five Benjamins for a bottle.

Instead, the high-tech system allows servers to pour a glass without ever opening the bottle. We all know that lets oxygen into the bottle and therefore, disrupts the natural aging process of the wine. Called the Coravin system, a small hollow needle pokes through the cork for wine to flow through. When the needle is removed, the cork reseals itself.

Even by the glass, however, you may end up dropping at least one Benjamin. It could cost about $125 for five ounces of the most expensive wine available. For three ounces, expect to pay about $70, while other three-ounce glasses might range from $30 to $60.

Bottom line, savor every sip like it’s your last (and get your money’s worth, too).
