A Stroll Through Kukuiula’s Art Walk

Hawaii’s love for art will never die.

A popular shopping venue on Kauai has revitalized its monthly art walk event, in the spirit of the island’s creative personality. Dozens will again stroll through the different galleries at The Shops at Kukuiula, while enjoying a glass of wine and pupu.

Living Foods Market & Cafe hosts a formal Wine Tasting from 6 to 8 p.m. But attendees may also enjoy other special treats (edible or audible) provided by the galleries themselves – that’s in addition to the pine art work displayed, of course.

At any art walk I attend, it’s always fun to meet the artist behind the artwork. At this event in particular, there’s no doubt your favorite artist will be cruising right alongside you. The art walk is very quaint and laid-back, as is the rest of Kauai.

Galleries include Red Bamboo, Hawaiian Salt & Palm Palm, Scott Hanft Photography and Galerie 103. As you can tell, it is still a fairly small art walk, as compared to the art walk in Hanapēpē or First Fridays in Honolulu’s Chinatown. The entire street comes to life every Friday night. However, I definitely enjoy the smaller, more intimate events, too, so it’s always refreshing when I find one.
