Free Slurpee Day in Hawaii

July 11 may not seem like anything special, but in Hawaii, it’s a day of free slurpees! 7-Eleven convenience stores celebrates July 11 (7-11) with these refreshing drinks made popular by the island chain store.

With more than 50 locations throughout the state, 7-Eleven can be found on Oahu, Kauai, Maui and the Hawaii Island. They open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week at most gas stations.

I love slurpees! They’re perfect for these hot summer days, especially when the winds are completely dead. But to be totally honest, slurpees are just one of those drinks that can be enjoyed all year long. Cool, refreshing and low-calorie! For me, they bring back childhood memories of going to the beach with my family on the weekends. We would always stop to get a slurpee after a day in the sun.

I guess you could say they’re like shave ice, except in a cup-and-straw form. There are not as many flavors as shave ice, though, but my favorite will forever be the vanilla-strawberry mix. If you were to pay for it, it would be no more than a couple dollars.
