Just being in the Hawaii Islands is a healing experience. The gentle breeze that carries the scent of flowers and the soothing sound of waves touch all the senses. But Hawaii also is a center of many different healing and wellness activities.

A series of wellness expos begins next weekend in Kailua and continues into fall. The expos have free admission and many demonstrations and entertainment. This particular set of expos includes information about green and environmental technologies and a section on animals, along with the items I would expect: massage, hair, nails; music and art therapy; and “healing modalities from Acupuncture to Yoga.”

Even if you don’t have an interest in any specific activities, it might be fun to check out the healthy food and arts & crafts sections.

This Saturday’s expo is in Kailua at the Aikahi Shopping Center from 10 am to 2 pm.

Future events are:

Saturday April 2: Aloha Stadium and Marketplace

Saturday July 16: Koko Marina Center (Hawaii Kai)

Saturday October 1: Aloha Stadium and Marketplace

The Wellness Weekends are sponsored by the Hawaii Wellness Directory and Hawaii Health Magazine.

  1. My sister used to get sick a lot and got into Acupuncture when she was given an appointment as a gift.  Ever since then she hasn't gotten as sick as before, it truly has been a life changer.  I am a skeptic to some things but to wellness and healing I am always open.  You're right our visitors should give it a try it's pretty liberating.

  2. I truly believe Hawaii has a most wonderful healing aura about it.  I came here myself, partly due to a medical issue and feel like I"ve never been healthier!   I love the alternative medicine here and how acceptable is it.
