A new dinner show in Waikiki takes a trip back in time to the big-band Hawaii USO tours of the 1940s. “Pacific Swing Hawaii” will feature performances by professional dancers and a live big band, then invite everyone to dance the night away at the Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa.
Headlining the show is Nathan Osmond – yes, he’s related to the musical family. He is the son of Alan Osmond and nephew to Donny and Marie Osmond. Show producers quote Donald Trump and Larry King as saying Nathan Osmond’s “musical genes” show talent. The show’s executive producer notes that swing and big band music is being re-discovered by young musicians. They hope the popularity of television shows like “Dancing with the Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance” will contribute to the success of the Honolulu dinner show.
The show will run three to four days a week starting January 7th, but there will be a sneak peek at a New Year’s Eve Dinner Party.
