茂宜島
拉海納鎮 (Lahaina) 位於茂宜島西北方,是昔日的捕鯨基地,而今也是茂宜島歷史及商業中心。在Lahaina街上可以看到整排完整且深富古味的矮小木造建築,在此漫步,可謂人生一大享受。每年十一月開始,在Lahaina Harbor碼頭可以遠眺在海上的鯨魚,極為壯觀。在鎮上,有一棟木造二層樓飯店–Pioneer Inn,有百年歷史卻維持原有古舊風貌。在 Front Street 上, 還可以看到早期中國移民所建造的致公堂(Wo Hing Temple), 堂內展示中國人的生活方式和歷史文物,在鎮上的Baldwin Home 是早期 Baldwin牧師來到此地所住的房子,頗具特色。鎮上有一種環繞市區的紅色雙層巴士,外觀寫著 Sugar Cane Train,可以免費載你到 Lahaina 車站。在車站付美金10元,即可搭乘由車站開往北邊 Kaanapali 的古老蒸汽火車,是以前甘蔗田中的主要運輸工具。
伊奧山谷(Iao Valley)距離Lahaina約l5分鐘車程,是個古戰場,而今成為靜謐的公園。Iao Needle針山一柱擎天。
哈雷卡拉火山(Haleakala Crater)是世界最大的死火山,高達四千公尺,有如月球表面。目前是火山國家公園,有觀察站在此。
茂宜熱帶平原(Maui Tropical Plantation)位於茂宜島頸部的Waikapu Valley。目前是一個商業性的展示中心,可在此搭乘園內火車,了解多種熱帶農作物,如咖啡、火山豆及各式水果。
Kaanapali 及 Wailea渡假區在茂宜島南北各有一個海灘渡假區。Kaanapali位於西北方,離Lahaina約 10分鐘車程。許多國際觀光飯店沿海而立,以金色沙灘和綿延山脈為背景,是名符其實的渡假勝地。另一個位於西南方的 Wailea是新開發的渡假區,許多豪華級飯店都在這一區,例如 Grand Hyatt、Four Season ,這些精心設計的飯店也成為觀光客喜愛遊覽的地方,從 Wailea 可遠眺 Molokini 珊瑚礁島。
