People love Hawaii. I hear people ask agents the same questions again and again. So I prepaid a list for you. I think this list will help you to prepare your trip:
What is the time difference from the mainland?
Hawaii follows Hawaii Standard Time (GMT-10 hours), which is 5 hours behind Eastern Standard Time and 2 […]

After a harrowing first trimester of nausea, unexplained aches and pains, headaches and insomnia, I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I began to enjoy being pregnant by the end of the third month. The true beauty of this time — the second trimester — is that many women are able to relax during […]

Over a century ago, my maternal great-grandparents farmed rice and raised their 12 children in Huleia Valley. My grandmother often reminisced about those happy days in that verdant rural region of Kauai. Popo told me her family’s rice mill and unpainted wooden house stood on a hill overlooking a sweeping view […]

Looking at Lono’s Garden at Kauai’s Aloha Beach Hotel, it was hard for me to imagine that a few years ago, it was a patch of overgrown grass and weeds. According to my guide, cultural activities director Sylvia Akana, the hotel’s general manager, Ron Kikumoto, envisioned something beautiful there.
He pictured a […]
