Hawaii Calendar December 2008 for Oahu

Dec 1-20: Vans Triple Crown Of Surfing
Surf up, and that means It is time for this high profile professional surfing series, staged in monstrous winter wave. This event takes place at the North shore’s 3 premier surfing destinations: Haleiwa, Sunset beach and Pipeline.
Dec 6 -Jan 4: Honolulu City Lights
At the end of each year the downtown area sparkles with yuletide festivities, presided over by city’s 65-foot Norfolk island pine. In the lobby of honolulu Hale (city Hall), people can enjoy exhibits of Christmas trees and wreaths. Downtown gets into the spirit with creative lighting display.
Dec 14: Honolulu Marathon
This footrace may be 35 years old but it is still going strong. This is 26.20 mile course starts downtown, which is throung Waikiki and Diamond Hard to East Oahu and back to Waikikim finish in Kapiolani Park.
