Aloha Tower Marketplace will host the second annual Ukulele Contest. The event will feature amateur ukulele players (defined as those who do not play the
ukulele for a living) vying great prizes and a chance to be a representative of the 2008 Aloha Festivals. There will be prizes, activities, ukulele lessons and live
entertainment for the whole family. Best of all, admission is FREE!

ALOHA FESTIVALS 55TH WAIKIKI HO’OLAULE’A

The annual Waikîkî Ho‘olaule‘a is Hawai‘i’s largest block party. Party-goers will take to the streets, with dancing, entertainment, ethnic foods and Hawaiian arts
and crafts, to celebrate Aloha Festivals. Entertainment stages, hula hâlau performances, Hawaiian food and international cuisine, as well as flower, shell and
feather lei will be showcased. The Sept. 21 event begins at 7 p.m. on Kalâkaua Avenue and ends at 10:30 p.m. Kalâkaua Avenue, from Lewers Street to Kapahulu
Avenue, will be closed to vehicular traffic from 5:30 p.m. until midnight.

9 am to 2 pm. Enjoy a pineapple recipe cook-off, Maui Pineapple Co. country store, farmers market, Made-on-Maui products, pineapple food booths by nonprofit
groups, crafts, a kids fun zone, ongoing live local entertainment and top name Hawaiian bands. Free admission and parking.
