Booking your Hawaii Vacation on Expedia? Buyer beware
On today’s show we talk about the perils of booking your Hawaii vacation online with some of the major players like Orbitz and Expedia. We explain why sometimes a price quote you get on these sites are either not available or higher when you actually go to try and book it. We also talk about how these sites may be using cookies to present prices that are higher depending on your buying habits wiht teh use of browser cookies.

It looks like private spaceflight companies are getting closer to the dream of launching space sightseeing tours. What’s even more exciting is that these companies have a eye on Hawaii to launch their space tourists. We talk about this exciting idea and ask whether or not folks would really pay to do something like that.
The Honolulu Festival will be happening this weekend so we take the opportunity to talk about this great event which celebrates so many cultures from all over the world. The best part of this festival is that it’s all free. The festival has become an enormously popular both locally and a special treat for visitors.
A listener wrote to us and wanted to know whether or not it would make sense to stop in Los Angeles or San Francisco before coming to Hawaii. We talk about her options and give her some advice about this plan of action.

Did the Saturday night live Hawaiian sketch go too far? Today we discuss this weekend’s Saturday Night Live sketch which raised a lot of controversy because of all of the negative connotations in the skit. We play a clip and ask listeners whether or not they agree.
With all the rules and regulations that get in the way of making a booking, now the TSA has come up with even more regulations that we have to follow. From now on all bookings must have the gender and the exact birthdate of the passenger in order to issue tickets. This has caused problems for agents because it’s time-consuming and additional fields need to be added to databases across the board.
Ever had trouble getting an assigned seat on an airplane? Today we discuss issues that arise when you can’t get the seat you want on an airplane and you try calling the airline and also your travel agent. We also go over packages that have been booked in the last 24 to 48 hours and welcome new customers to our Ohana (family).
