Talking Story About the Duke Kahanamoku Statue

Yesterday we had the opportunity to talk story with a gentleman by the name of Joe Correa who goes way back or in Hawaii and shared something we never knew about the Duke Kahanamoku statue. Joe was actually the guy that delivered the statue and placed it where it rests today on Kalakaua Avenue. A lot of people know that the statue doesn’t face the ocean so that people can take a pictures with the backdrop of the ocean. Today we reveal a unknown fact about the statue and share information about why it is placed in this current position.
