The Pacific Beach Hotel is an expansive property taking up an entire city block in the heart of Waikiki. It has 2 towers and 837 rooms and is located just a few steps from a good part of Waikiki Beach where the sand is wider and a long promenade passes by the shore.

NCL contemplating its next pullout
NCL cruise line is threatening to leave Hawaii for good if local leaders don’t step up to the plate and support a change in cabatoge rules which will make it virtually impossible for ships like Holland and Celebrity to sail to Hawaii. A irritated Colin Veith, the CEO and president of NCL told a local newspaper today that “The focus in Hawaii should be on making sure that our one ship remains here”. Today we talk about this interesting development and what might be happening in the future.
With prices higher than ever for Hawaii, consumers are asking us how far in advance they should book trips to Hawaii and how to get the best deals. Today we offer some tips for booking in advance and discuss the changing prices and marketplace in Hawaii. We also discuss some packages that have been booked in the last 24 hours and go over the pricing which can help you get a feel for how much it costs to come to paradise. We also take this opportunity to thank new customers and welcome them to our Ohana (family).

Most of the time I love to be right, however, in the case of my prediction that there was a shake-up coming at NCL I was glad to hear that my "sense" was wrong, apparently I had the story pretty right on after all. Today we talk about the sudden announcement that the NCL Pride of Aloha is leaving the islands for good which comes just after the NCL Pride of Hawaii left last week. We talk about the impact this will have on cruising in Hawaii and speculate the future for NCL in Hawaii. We discuss the NCL’s recent move to support the "Panneger Vessel Serices Act" which forbids foreign-flagged vessels from transporting passengers directly between U.S. ports. It is the Customs and Border Protection Agency’s new interpretation of the 122-year-old law. It directly targets rival foreign-flagged ships based in Los Angeles and San Diego that stop briefly in Ensenada, Mexico en-route to Hawaiian waters.
