pride of aloha leaves hawaiiMost of the time I love to be right, however, in the case of my prediction that there was a shake-up coming at NCL I was glad to hear that my "sense" was wrong, apparently I had the story pretty right on after all. Today we talk about the sudden announcement that the NCL Pride of Aloha is leaving the islands for good which comes just after the NCL Pride of Hawaii left last week. We talk about the impact this will have on cruising in Hawaii and speculate the future for NCL in Hawaii. We discuss the NCL’s recent move to support the "Panneger Vessel Serices Act"   which forbids foreign-flagged vessels from transporting passengers directly between U.S. ports. It is the Customs and Border Protection Agency’s new interpretation of the 122-year-old law.  It directly targets rival foreign-flagged ships based in Los Angeles and San Diego that stop briefly in Ensenada, Mexico en-route to Hawaiian waters.

That is such a shocker! It is going to affect alot of people who can’t do the 12 or 15 day cruises from the mainland. Maybe HAT should buy a ship, problem solved!!!

All things happen for a reason..so, although it may seem like a bummer now, you never know what the future holds. Could be interesting. Keep in tuned! (I know I will)
