The New “SUPERPOOL” in Waikiki
I know this weekend alot of you are thinking about the SuperBowl, but did you know that nestled in between The Sheraton Waikiki and The Royal Hawaiian Hotels, is Waikiki’s newest SUPERPOOL ! YUP, breaking ground on June 14, 2008 and constructed on what was once a grassy, outdoor function area, The Helumoa Playground, is run by the Sheraton and offers a family friendly area for guests of both properties. This newest addition to the Sheraton brings a new dimension that Starwood Hotel’s neighbor island properties have long enjoyed - a resort "Superpool."
The Playground features two fresh water swimming pools, a 15 foot high by 70 foot long water slide, a staging area for outdoor functions, two large whirlpools with sweeping views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head, an interactive fountain area for kids, 10 cabanas, chaise water sunning benchs and a pool hut where guests may borrow towels and purchase pool goods including sun products, inflatable floatation devices and toys. The Playground also offers the perfect spot for family activities such as lei making, water slide races, hula lessons, story telling and star gazing.
I wanted to shout out a big MAHALO to the folks at The Sheraton Waikiki. I spent a wonderful weekend there enjoying my 45th birthday. Don’t even ask what happened! My Oceanfront room was perfect and the view was AMAZING !
