Located off a white sand beach in the heart of Kailua-Kona, this property is right in the heart of town. Located on the sunny Kona Coast, this hotel is eight miles from Kona International Airport and ten miles from the city of Hilo. The King Kamehameha Hotel is home to the world class Ironman Triathlon Championship as well as one of the largest Outrigger Canoe Races in the world. The rooms are marginal, so not for someone looking for a world class resort.

However the hotel is within walking distance of Kailua Kona Town where the shopping and restaurants are located. It is a great stroll from the hotel down to the other end of the street, perfect after your dinner to enjoy the stars and sounds of the ocean. Amenities include a small pool and beach activities, bar and restaurants. A Historical Walking Tour and Island Breeze King Kamehameha Luau are also available to guests. Atlantis Submarines depart from the adjacent dock.
