I recently booked some customers for next september to october and they went with the full luxury package.  First class seats, first class oceanfront hotels with oceanfront rooms.  It doesn’t hurt to ask on pricing to go first class, often times it’s not as much as you think it is.  This may be your one and only time to hawaii and you want to do it right.  Doing that long trip over the pacific is well worth that first class price difference.  Good thing about this is you can book in advance a luxury trip and hey you don’t have to pay for it til 35-45 days before your departure.  That kind of takes the hit out of it, when you don’t have to drop down a large chunk of money up front for your trip which does make a luxury trip more possible for most people.
