Halekulani Gets Fresher Look

A Hawai‘i luxury resort known worldwide for its gracious hospitality and impeccable service recently got a multimillion-dollar makeover. Halekulani Hotel in Waikīkī underwent nearly four years of major renovations, which completed this summer. And in doing so, further carried out its Hawaiian name as a "heavenly haven."

The improvements most apparent to guests will surely be those made to all 453 hotel rooms and suites. Each has been refreshed to further capture the natural light and airy visual expanses on to the sea. With new furnishings and amenities, the rooms are meant to feel more spacious but with a contemporary convenience. Bathroom upgrades include more modernized showers, vanities, sinks, lightings and fixtures.

The fitness room, business center, banquet rooms, and lobby have also been renovated to better suit Halekulani's legendary style. After all, the hotel has been around for more than 100 years, so it seems to be a suitable time to renew its image while still maintaining its reputation of excellence and quality.

I'm most looking forward to the changes made to Halekulani's culinary programs and menus. This will include a unique new bar concept and newly-styled afternoon tea. I'm a big fan of tea and often find myself going to the same places around town. It'd be nice to change it up and check out what Halekulani's version of afternoon tea entails.
