TATTOO HONOLULU (O‘ahu)

Tattooing is an art form that has gone from cultural to mainstream within decades. This exhibit showcases Hawai‘i's high-quality tattoo art and how it developed into a mix of the islands' cultures. More info: 808-532-8700
32ND ANNUAL CULTURAL FESTIVAL (Big Island)
When: Saturday, July 14, 2012 9am-3pm
Where: Big Island – Volcano Art Center Niaulani Campus, 19-4074 Old Volcano Rd.

PA‘IA MANTOKUJI MISSION OBON FESTIVAL (Maui)
When: Friday, July 13, 2012, 6pm
Where: Maui – Pa‘ia Mantokuji Mission, 5636 Hana Hwy.
Traditional Okinawan Obon festival. "Obon" literally means lantern festival; hence, the colorful hanging lights that cast a glow over the event. Enjoy this cultural celebration with none other than andagi, an Okinawan donut. More info: 808-579-8051
NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST FESTIVAL (Maui)
When: Saturday, July 14, 2012
Where: Maui, various locations (see website)
Contemporary music and multimedia performances by classical and jazz musicians, artists and dancers. This day's event presents "Piano Synergy." A master composer creates a piece for four pianos. More info: www.ebbandflowarts.org
