Great restaurants here on Oahu
I have lived here for 15 years now and I really never get tired of the great food. the Asian influence is everywhere. I have a group of culinary students coming here in April from Ohio, so it got me thinking about some of the some great restaurants here on Oahu:
Dukes - Waikiki beachfront "happening" restaurant and bar. Don't miss Hawaiian music on Sunday afternoons! Beach casual atmosphere.
Eggs'n Things - Funky coffee shop on the edge of Waikiki. Great local color and crowded. Go early for breakfast or great for "after hours' munchies.
Cheese Burger in Paradise - Located on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki featuring burgers and such plus live tunes during the evening hours.
Alan Wongs - Simply considered the finest cuisine in Honolulu. Expensive and worth it.
Roys - Hawaii Kai The original, where the legend began, you must go to Roys and experience the best asian/hawaiian fusion in the world.
Havana Cabana - Located on Nuuanu Street in Chinatown and offers smokes, drinks, and music.
Indigo - Also located in Chinatown on Nuuanu Street. Has the best atmosphere in town and features "Eurasian Cuisine". Valet parking available.
3660 On The Rise - Found in the Kaimuki area of east Honolulu. Elegant atmosphere and excellent menu.
Good To Go Hawaii - Located in Kailua on the east side of the island and has great take-out food for picnics at Kailua Beach Park.
Zippy's - Local fast food and bakery. Prices are very reasonable plus you've got to try their chilli and rice. It's famous throughout the islands!
