Huge Swell Bringing 35 foot surf to Hawaii!!

Here on the North Shore of Oahu we are gearing up for some break neck 35 foot surf and I just can’t contain my excitement!! Not at all that I will be in the water (or that any sane person should be) - but for a handful of brave soul surfers this is the swell they have been waiting for since December.  Dare I say out loud that we may even be blessed with an Eddie Aikau Big Wave Surf Competition tomorrow!!!

If you read my last post then you know I’ve committed to spending 365 days watching the sunset and the surf so rest assured there will be some shots of the BIG SURF!!  As I type this entry from Pupukea mountain on the North Shore of Oahu I can hear the surf pounding more than 300 feet below - about 3 hours from now I’ll be driving down the hill to check out tha sunset and feel the spray from the monster waves crashing at Sunset Beach.  You can never predict when the islands will get surf like this but for those visitors who are fortunate enough to be here during one of these monster swells it truly is an awesome and unforgettable experience & gives you a whole new understanding of the power of the ocean.

Stay tuned for some photos and here are some shots of last nights sunset.
