HAWAII FOOD & WINE PARADISE - Sept. 11-13, 2008

Thinking of a last minute trip to Hawaii? – A great time to come would be to experience three days of the finest in local and national talent in the worlds of food, wine, spirits and the best in entertainment!

This year’s Hawai‘i Food & Wine Paradise takes place September 11-13 at the Ko Olina Resort on the West shore of O‘ahu, Hawai‘i.  The three-day fest offers a number of tantalizing and entertaining options for residents and visitors alike including:

Paradise Golf Tournament (September 11) – 60 players enjoy play on the championship Ted Robinson designed 18-hole Ko Olina Golf Club.  Play—in a scramble format—begins promptly at noon after players have had an opportunity to pick up tips from a golf pro, enjoy energy-inducing gourmet eats and a choice of wine, beer or soft drinks.  Then it’s off to the greens where players will find food and drink stations strategically placed to refresh and continue the fun.  Cigars aficionados are taken care of as well on the course.  Wind up play with celebratory food, drink and special gifts.

Paradise Spa Experience (September 11) – A limited number of discounted spa packages are available from noon to 4:00 p.m.  to Hawaii Food & Wine Paradise guests who care to indulge in an atmosphere of tranquil luxury and elegance at Ihilani Spa.  Indulge in a traditional Hawaiian lomilomi massage, enjoy a cooling and healing Hawaiian Ti Leaf body wrap, a facial, manicure or pedicure.  Delicious and nutritious Spa Cuisine lunches may be ordered as well.  An ideal treat for the partner who seeks to be pampered while the “other half” tees off at the Paradise Golf Tournament!

Kapolei Chef Showcase (September 11) – Last year’s Showcase sold out in no time leaving many without tickets disappointed!  A choice between two Showcases is available this year, but tickets are again limited to provide for the highest and best guest experience!  James Beard Foundation award-winning Chef Roy Yamaguchi prepares a series of tantalizing creations for a sit down dinner at his Roy’s Ko Olina restaurant.  Chefs Peter Pahk of Silverado Resort and Thad Lyman of Napa Valley Grille cater to the sophisticated palates of their guests at a series of grazing and wine stations at Azul in the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa.  Both of these events pair amazing food with equally amazing wines and an opportunity to exchange experiences on an intimate level with some of the finest in chef and winemaking talent.  Showcases take place from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. with seating for 50 guests at Roy’s Ko Olina and tickets for 150 guests at Azul.

Kapolei Uncorked (September 12) – Dining under the stars at the private oceanfront estate of Lanikuhonua where alii (Hawaiian royalty) played…there’s a memory to take home!  And it gets even better when paired with Hawaii’s hottest chef talent, including Chefs D.K. Kodama of Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Hiroshi Fukui of Hiroshi’s European Tapas and Kelvin Ro of Diamond Head Market & Grill among others!  We don’t stop there…rounding out this Hawaiian-style hospitality are generous pourings of premium wines, a martini bar and this has all been preceded by a champagne reception!  In case you run out of things to talk about at dinner, our lively auction presents a number of one-of-a-kind offerings and adventures.  Join us from 6:30 – 10:00 p.m. and don’t leave without your special gift bag!

Paradise Grand Finale (September 13) – Sure to live up to its name, the Paradise Grand Finale is an oceanside banquet at Ko Olina Resort featuring the crème de la crème in the world of food, wine and entertainment through this elegant seven-course dinner.  We guarantee you’ll love Chef Tim Love’s award-winning cuisine, while Chef Chai Chaowasaree showcases the romance of the islands.  They’ll be joined by four other top chef colleagues and accompanied by the best of the best in wine and spirits. World-renowned Anne Namba Designs (clients include former First Lady Hilary Rodham Clinton and entertainers Elizabeth Taylor and Aretha Franklin) provides a visual feast for the senses as models wow guests with one-of-a-kind garments made from vintage Japanese kimonos, obis and Anne’s exclusive Asian-inspired silk print collections. Special surprise entertainment and an evening capped off with a magnificent fireworks display from 6:30 – 10:00 p.m.
