Hawaii Vacation with Kids - Don’t Miss the Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park on Oahu

It seems to be becoming a tradition that my family goes to the Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park for my husbands birthday  - and just recenly we decided to go ahead and get annual passes.   It’s a place where our entire family can have a great time and also a nice way to get some relief from the summer heat.

This is Hawaii’s only waterpark and it has 25-acres of water slides, water falls, water cannons, bodyslides, a tube cruise, arcade, lagoon and interactive children’s playground.

The childrens area is called the Keiki Cove and it has tiny slides, water canons, floaties and mushroom waterfalls.  My two year old just loves it!  Right next to the Keiki Cove is an area called Water World for older kids and it has seven water slides and an obstacle course area with floating lily pads you can attempt to walk across the water on.

Hurricane Bay is a huge wave pool where you can body surf or ride 2-4 foot waves in a tube. Typically twice a day the pool is cleared and you are able to rent boogie boards and catch some killer waves. The pool is usually packed during the tube time and but there is lots of room to play when it is boogie boarding time! If you want a tube ride with a little less action Kapolei Kooler is a 800 foot long continuous river that you can enjoy a relaxing ride on.

For adventure seekers the main attractions are five thrilling waterslides. These slides require riders be at least 48" tall. The "Waianae Coaster" is a 4 ½ story ride down in a double tube that can seat up to thee people. The "Big Kahuna" is another double tube slide with lots of fun twists and turns on the way down. The "Flying Hawaiian" is a quick scoot down then the slide ends abruptly and you fly into a 20’ deep pool. The "Shaka" is an awesome half pipe slide up to three people can ride on a tube. If you put the heaviest person in front you build up enough momentum on the way down to make it the farthest on the up side of the pipe.

A great place for adults to slip away and relax is at the Spa. This adults-only section features a salt water filled cold pool with waterfall and is located next to a salt water hot tub. All of the water in the features was really comfortably warm and not packed with chlorine.

Overall - it’s definitley worth it to spend a enjoying the waterpark - there’s fun for everyone in the family!!
