Kona Village Resort - A Unique Hawaiian All Inclusive Experience

If you’re thinking about traveling to Hawaii & you’d be interested in a unique Hawaiian experience - the Kona Village Resort is the place to go.  Really this is where celebrities come to relax and be treated like everyone else, which is to say with warm aloha. Legions of guests return annually. Begun in 1965 when access was by private plane on the resort’s landing strip, Kona Village has since tripled in size.  This would be a getaway that you simply can’t find any place else in the Hawaiian Islands!  So many people I talk to want an all-inclusive Hawaiian vacation and to be able to stay in one place and have meals & at least some activites inclued - the Kona Village Resort is the only place where you can have this experience in Hawaii all on site.  Those who I’ve personally booked at the Kona Village Resort for the first time have all become repeat guests.  I’ve had people thank me afterward for sending them to a place that allowed them to slow down, disconnect from ‘technology’ & ‘to do lists’ - & to connect or reconnect with loved ones, yourself, and with nature.  Experience the natural rhythms and sounds of oceanside living where the day is regulated only by sunrises and sunsets.

The Kona Village Resort has managed to create a place that’s tranquil, beautiful, and in touch with the awesome nature surrounding it. Built on the grounds of an ancient Hawaiian village, the modern bungalows reflect styles of South Seas cultures — Tahitian, Samoan, Maori, Fijian, or Hawaiian.  Guest accommodations include a choice of several different types of ‘hale’ (hah-lay) or single free standing thatched roof cottages scattered on the 82-acre property - nestled amidst tropical gardens, historic fish ponds and along the palm tree-fringed shore and speckled white sand beach of Kahuwai Bay.  Some visitors prefer the lagoon area, with bird-life nearby. If you need more pampering, 23 oceanfront hale feature private outdoor whirlpools to enjoy under a star-lit night.  This Polynesian setting provides the ultimate secluded hideaway!  There’s no TV, no radio, no clock, and no Internet connection in your ‘hale’ and please trust me that’s just the way you’ll want it!  "Do not disturb" Hawaiian style - put a coconut in front of your ‘hale’ let’s them know you would rather be alone.

Again - this is the only all-inclusive resort in the Hawaiian Islands!  All rates at Kona Village Resort include three island-inspired meals daily, with oceanfront dining, Paniolo Night, award-winning aha’aina Hawaiian luau dinner & show each Wednesday and Friday, flower lei and fruit punch arrival greeting, fitness center and tennis court use, two freshwater swimming pools, numerous water activities including snorkeling gear, sports & water activities, rides in the resort’s glass-bottom boat, ground tours in room complimentary 100% Kona Coffee and refrigerated beverages and a daily children’s program, (except May 1-25 and September 4-30, 2007 for the children’s program).

Nature lovers will find the resort particularly delightful, especially if they visit during the sea-turtle-hatching season between June and October.  Children are permitted at the resort. Couples who feel strongly about vacationing in the presence of only adults are advised the best times to visit are May and September after Labor Day, when the resort suspends its children’s programs and the keiki (children) are in school.

Located on one of the few natural white sand beaches on the Big Island, the Kona Village has many activities to offer the weeklong visitor. Complimentary unlimited use of non-motorized water sports equipment such as snorkels and masks, kayaks, sailboats and body boards. The protected beach is great for swimming, snorkeling and sailing. There is also volleyball every day and complimentary glass bottom boat tours every morning. Optional activities including deep-sea fishing charters, catamaran snorkel cruises, scuba lessons, dive excursions, horseback riding and helicopter tours can also be arranged through the Activities Desk. Extra fees apply to guided adventure tours and private instructions.

For a more active approach, you’ll enjoy two outdoor swimming pools with accompanying whirlpool spas, extensive jogging trails and tennis with lighted courts, clinics, lessons and tournaments. Kona Village Resort’s Fitness Center features saunas, locker rooms, showers, outdoor and indoor massage rooms and popular exercise equipment such as stationary cycles, stair climbers and rowing machines. Fitness programs designed specifically for guests and draw upon the culture and spirit of historic Ka`upulehu.
